Seven Branches of Enlightenment

The Path of Practice is described as the Seven Branches of Enlightenment (Bodhi) as follows:

  1. Thorough investigation of the Principle
  2. Brave effort
  3. Joyous thought
  4. Peaceful thought
  5. Mindfulness
  6. Concentration
  7. Equanimity

Thus the ariya proceeds to the last stage: i.e., the Path of No-More-Learning. Then the firm conviction that he has realized the Four-fold Truth will present itself.
